Ore-Dock - The concept

Once again, it was our Harry (known for his unique ideas) who arrived one day and brought the Walthers “Ore Dock” kit with him. He actually wanted to build a small diorama with the kit. But everyone who knows Bean's knows that “it doesn't work that way—Bean's can only do big”!!!
So the question was: what to do?
The kit has 18 chutes and is double-tracked; the originals are quadruple-tracked and have significantly more chutes. So 36 chutes per side would be good. That means at least 4 kits. But that's still very short; the originals have around 100 chutes per side. So I quickly expanded to 8 kits, giving me 72 chutes per side. Later it turned out that there would only be 71 chutes per side (more on that later).
